- [11:34] < pjuvara> Hi everybody
- [11:34] < pjuvara> let's start today's product development team meeting.
- [11:34] < alostale> Aminur_Rashid, if standard it is generated
- [11:34] < alostale> other case do it manually
- [11:34] < pjuvara> Today we will cover a status update on ongoing tasks so we should be able to fit the meeting into 60 minutes.
- [11:34] < pjuvara> Or less.
- [11:34] < pjuvara> The topics on the agenda are:
- [11:34] < pjuvara> 1) Status of existing ERP releases
- [11:34] < pjuvara> 2) Clean up activities
- [11:34] < pjuvara> 3) POS 2.30 status
- [11:34] < pjuvara> 4) Q&A
- [11:34] < pjuvara> Let's start with the first topic: status of existing ERP releases.
- [11:35] < pjuvara> First the numbers...
- [11:35] < pjuvara> The overall backlog of defects affecting production releases has been increasing about 15%.
- [11:35] < pjuvara> We are now are at a total of 107 defects (+13 compared to the last meeting) with the following breakdown:
- [11:35] < pjuvara> * 1 critical (+1 9064)
- [11:35] < pjuvara> * 19 major (-2)
- [11:35] < pjuvara> * 76 minor (+13)
- [11:35] < pjuvara> * 11 trivial (+1)
- [11:36] < pjuvara> rafaroda: can you please give an update on 9064?
- [11:36] < pjuvara> https://issues.openbravo.com/view.php?id=9064
- [11:36] < rafaroda> pjuvara: I have to test installing the Spanish Translation module
- [11:37] < rafaroda> and let you know
- [11:37] < pjuvara> OK. Thanks.
- [11:37] < pjuvara> The total defects, including those reported agains pi or main, is also increasing by about 12%.
- [11:37] < pjuvara> We now have 214 (+24), with a breakdown of:
- [11:37] < pjuvara> * 2 critical (+2 9064, 8963)
- [11:37] < pjuvara> * 44 major (+3)
- [11:37] < pjuvara> * 149 minor (+16)
- [11:37] < pjuvara> * 19 trivial (+3)
- [11:38] < pjuvara> 8963 has not been updated for almost 10 days.
- [11:38] < pjuvara> It is an issue with the Central Repository and I have escalated it this morning.
- [11:38] < pjuvara> As a reminder: please make sure to handle critical issues quickly. If we have a real critical issue, we need to publish an emergency maintenance pack and we need to know that as soon as possible.
- [11:39] < pjuvara> Now, regardless of severity, I remind you that we should work on defects in order of priority.
- [11:39] < pjuvara> In this respect, we have:
- [11:39] < pjuvara> * 8 immediate (+2)
- [11:39] < pjuvara> * 15 urgent (-2)
- [11:39] < pjuvara> * 19 high (+5)
- [11:39] < pjuvara> * 117 normal (+14)
- [11:39] < pjuvara> * 44 low (+5)
- [11:39] < pjuvara> * 11 none (-)
- [11:39] < pjuvara> With regards to backports, we now have a total of 57 (+2) with a breakdown by branch of:
- [11:39] < pjuvara> * 6 for 2.3x (-2)
- [11:39] < pjuvara> * 51 for 2.40 (+4)
- [11:39] < pjuvara> In terms of maintenance pack, for the community, we have released 2.50 MP1.
- [11:39] < pjuvara> Congratulations!
- [11:39] < ggi> pjuvara: the 8963 is in feedback until essentia found the problem
- [11:40] < pjuvara> I heard reports of an issue with xmlengine that is causing the Balance Sheet report to fail. That seems to be a critical issue that would require an emergency MP2.
- [11:40] < pjuvara> Does anybody know the id of the issue? What is the status?
- [11:41] < psarobe> pjuvara, QA team in chenai hava had a meeting about this but no more news
- [11:41] < alostale> pjuvara, i fixed it
- [11:41] < alostale> qa should test everything is ok
- [11:41] < pjuvara> Cool.
- [11:41] < txasu> bug is #9011
- [11:41] < pjuvara> So we should be able to freeze MP2 now.
- [11:42] < pjuvara> On previous releases, we are in the process of closing 2.40 MP4, targeting professional edition subscribers only.
- [11:42] < pjuvara> psarobe: can you please give us an update on how that is going?
- [11:42] < psarobe> mp4 is ready to package. Just to package
- [11:43] < psarobe> that means:
- [11:43] < psarobe> we still need to do the test of upgrading from mp3 to mp4
- [11:43] < psarobe> and testing the console
- [11:43] < pjuvara> target end of the week?
- [11:43] < iarwain> psarobe: but we cannot create the tag till the update test is done right,? Because some modifications might be required
- [11:44] < psarobe> but we need the tatg of svn
- [11:44] < iarwain> psarobe: ok, I'll create a temporary "tag" in svn. not hg.
- [11:45] < iarwain> so that you can test the switch.
- [11:45] < psarobe> yes
- [11:45] < pjuvara> Great.
- [11:46] < pjuvara> Let's move to the next topic. Before we start the full speed development of next release, there are a number of tasks that we need to close in order to be productive during the development cycle:
- [11:46] < pjuvara> 1) Documenation:
- [11:46] < pjuvara> * Developer's Guide
- [11:46] < pjuvara> * Configuration Guide
- [11:46] < pjuvara> * Data Sheet
- [11:46] < pjuvara> * How to Customize
- [11:46] < pjuvara> * Guidelines to develop modules in an upgrade safe manner
- [11:46] < pjuvara> * Technical Documentation
- [11:46] < pjuvara> 2) Continuous Integration framework
- [11:46] < pjuvara> 3) Development Process Definition
- [11:46] < pjuvara> raejohnston: can you please give an update on the Configuration Guide?
- [11:47] < raejohnston> Last week when I was in PNA I was mostly doing Spanish Localization. However the long list of questions on the spreadsheet have now all been answered, so thanks for that.
- [11:48] < raejohnston> The Prof. Subscription documentation has been raised as urgent so I need to look at that before I can continue, but it's not a large job.
- [11:48] < pjuvara> OK.
- [11:48] < pjuvara> With regards to "How to Customize", I published yesterday a blog post with some high level concepts on the topic and on Monday I delivered a training to GPS about that.
- [11:48] < pjuvara> I will integrate this content in the Configuration Guide by the end of the week.
- [11:49] < pjuvara> raejohnston: I will work with you on that.
- [11:49] < raejohnston> Can I raise a couple more doc issues? azabaleta, would you mind checking the documentation forum? there are some questions for you on there.
- [11:49] < selva> alostale: http://pastebin.com/m772755a6
- [11:49] < azabaleta> me ?
- [11:49] < azabaleta> sure.
- [11:49] < raejohnston> yes.
- [11:49] < raejohnston> thanks
- [11:50] < raejohnston> Juanpablo can you get in touch with some small details about professional subscription? thanks
- [11:50] < raejohnston> Thanks everyone.
- [11:50] < pjuvara> Thanks, raejohnston.
- [11:50] < pjuvara> gnuyoga: can you please give an update on the Continuous Integration framework, in particular with reference to the API consistency check?
- [11:51] < iarwain> raejohnston: sure, we can talk by e-mail.
- [11:51] < gnuyoga> pjuvara: we have added java api / javascript api and model check
- [11:51] < gnuyoga> in pi branch
- [11:52] < gnuyoga> w.r.t rest of the system i have created a mind map http://www.mindmeister.com/21589633
- [11:52] < rosenwla> when compile mp1 return error ConnectionFactory connectionFactory = new OpenbravoDriverManagerConnectionFactory(dbServer
- [11:52] < gnuyoga> next in priority would be smoke test for pi
- [11:53] < huehner> pjuvara: two parts are missing to make the api check part complete: get the process of handling issues running (just defined yesterday), do the one time revamp of the public api
- [11:53] < iarwain> rosenwla: we're in a product development meeting. We can discuss afterwards.
- [11:53] < pjuvara> huehner: gnuyoga: I have a question.
- [11:54] < pjuvara> When we approve an exception to the API change, how do we flag it so that CI does not continue to report it?
- [11:54] < huehner> pjuvara: i wrote an email about this some minutes ago
- [11:55] < huehner> pjuvara: short summary: flag it to platform (me) and i do a commit/push to the api-checks repository and request and manual test run to verify that it works
- [11:55] < iarwain> fyi: https://code.openbravo.com/erp/devel/api-checks/
- [11:56] < pjuvara> Very nice. Thanks.
- [11:56] < pjuvara> Let's move to the last topic on the agenda: POS. adrianromero: can you please take the lead?
- [11:57] < adrianromero> Yes,
- [11:57] < adrianromero> The status of Openbravo POS is the following:
- [11:57] < adrianromero> We plan to release Openbravo POS 2.30 stable today
- [11:57] < adrianromero> At least :)
- [11:57] < adrianromero> And the Openbravo POS repository has been moved to Mercurial.
- [11:57] < adrianromero> You can browse the repositories here: https://code.openbravo.com/pos
- [11:58] < adrianromero> At the moment we have the following bugs pendings:
- [11:58] < adrianromero> * 3 major
- [11:58] < adrianromero> * 9 minor
- [11:58] < adrianromero> * 1 trivial
- [11:58] < adrianromero> And this is the chart of the status in forums:
- [11:59] < adrianromero> http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=pWEbJ3VuNci0-7pcXvhrLSQ&oid=5&output=image
- [11:59] < adrianromero> That is all from the POS team
- [11:59] < pnuding> then I'd like to jump in for a second with a topic we've skipped: development processes
- [12:00] < pnuding> pjuvara: I've sent you some questions on the further details with an email on the 8th
- [12:00] < pjuvara> Thanks adrianromero. pnuding: go ahead
- [12:00] < pnuding> so we'll need to continue working on these changes in the wiki
- [12:00] < pjuvara> pnuding: yes, sorry. It is in my list of things to review.
- [12:01] < pjuvara> I will get back to you today, hopefully.
- [12:01] < pnuding> ok, just to make sure it stays visible
- [12:01] < pnuding> thx
- [12:01] < pjuvara> If not, shame on me.
- [12:02] < pjuvara> Any further point / question?
- [12:02] < DMA02> I have a question
- [12:02] < pjuvara> DMA02: go ahead.
- [12:03] < DMA02> the OpenBravoPOS .. is there any plans to include Caller-ID support (example, using the gjTapi library) ?
- [12:03] < pjuvara> I guess this is a question for adrianromero. I saw that it was asked before the meeting started. Sorry that you had to wait so long for an answer.
- [12:04] < adrianromero> No, For the moment there are no plans
- [12:04] < DMA02> ok
- [12:04] < adrianromero> If you have interest in it I suggest you to log this request in the project community ideas wiki page
- [12:05] < adrianromero> http://wiki.openbravo.com/wiki/OpenbravoPOS_Community_Projects
- [12:05] < DMA02> will do
- [12:06] < rosenwla> in openbravopos have any plans for make one product with many bar-codes
- [12:07] < adrianromero> Understood. In the current version Openbravo POS supports only one barcode per product.
- [12:09] < rosenwla> i now but next time you plans
- [12:09] < adrianromero> I think that this request is not as big as previous one. My suggestion is to log it in http://issues.openbravo.com as a feature request
- [12:09] < adrianromero> and also it will be great to discuss it in the development forums to look for development strategies to implement this feature.
- [12:10] < rosenwla> ok
- [12:10] < adrianromero> http://forge.openbravo.com/plugins/espforum/browse.php?group_id=101&forumid=434922
- [12:11] < pjuvara> OK. If there are no other questions, perhaps we can call the product development meeting closed.
- [12:11] < rosenwla> ok i post idea for discusion in forum
