Projects:Mobile Server Controller

Contents

Introduction

The 2015Q4 release of the Openbravo Commerce solution will include a new concept called the mobile server. The mobile server is a major step in moving the OB Commerce suite into a distributed multi-server and multi-service environment.

A mobile server can be installed locally in the store. This gives performance as well robustness advantages in case of unstable internet connections.

For the overall management of information flowing from and to the store mobile server and from the central mobile server to the store mobile server it is important that the concept of being offline/online or connected versus disconnected becomes more explicit in our solution.

In addition we should make it easy for developers to detect if the server in the store is offline or online and be able to write different code/logic for different situations.
