Projects:Quartz Upgrade 2.3.0/Functional Specifications

Contents

Overview

Through this project, the version of the Quartz Scheduler embedded into Openbravo will be upgraded from version 1.6.2 to 2.3.0. However, no changes in the functional specifications are expected.

Purpose

To enhance Openbravo's Load Balancing and High Availability features, the Background Processes Scheduler will be modified to work as a cluster. While upgrading to the latest version of the Quartz Scheduler library is not a strict requirement because version 1.6.2 already supports clustering, the newest version counts with improved functionality and many bug fixes.

Scope

Modify core to use the latest stable version of the Quartz Scheduler library while maintaining all the functionality already available.
