About the User Manual

The goal of User Manual version 1.0 is to define windows and tabs related to the system. This will enable users to understand what Openbravo can and cannot do at an entry level.

The current structure is setup to offer concept definitions, tab definitions, and process information. Users will see this structure in two forms: when looking at rules sections and when looking at the rest of the documents.

Future versions of the User Manual will include field definitions, new features and functionalities, and more detailed descriptions of basic processes. These processes will be incorporated in to our online demo, which can be found at demo.openbravo.com.

User Interface

This chapter explains the communication interface between the user and the application. It consists of a description of menu functions (toolbar, commands, tabs and buttons), windows functions and common functions.

Application Dictionary

Metadata is defined in the application dictionary. In this module reports, processes, and application forms are discussed in order show how to access them throughout the menu or windows buttons. Also defined are all the windows that are being constructed automatically while compiling the application. For that reason it is necessary to include the corresponding database tables and columns. Finally, using the Application Dictionary, it is also possible to design and customize application windows.
