Definitions
Process Plans: A sequence of events which map and organize the manufacturing of one or many products. The same product can be produced using a variety of production plans, however normally each product has one process plan.
Conversion rate: the ratio between primary and secondary units. It indicates the quantity by which the secondary unit is divided by in order to obtain the primary unit.
Primary Unit: = (Secondary Unit)/(Conversion Rate)
Tabs
- Process Plan: Describes and creates a new process plan
- Process Plan Version: In this window the user can create various process plan versions. Versions are process plans created for a specific period of time. When a work requirement is created, data from a currently active process plan version is used.
- Calculate Standard: In this window the standard cost calculations from the process plan version are registered.
- Sequence: The order in which the work is carried out. Each sequence is assigned to a predefined process which is defined in Production Rules.
- Sequence Product: The user can introduce all the input and output products included in the chosen sequence. The products can be raw materials, work-in-progress, or finished goods. Additionally, it is necessary to introduce the quantity of each input and output product.
Process Information
Sequence tab
- Cost Center Use: Here the user can indicate the use of each cost center in order to process the sequence. It is calculated based on cost center UOM defined in the Production Rules.
- Multiplier indicates the number of sequence repetitions to be processed with the aim of completing a process.
- Noqty: If this box is unchecked, the product quantities in the Production Run tab is automatically filled in. Production Run tab can be found in Work Effort window.
- Group use indicates that all input and intermediary products are included in the calculation of Global Use. Global use is a tab in Work Effort window.
Sequence Product tab
- P+ means input product and P – means output product. All products need to be predefined and marked as production products in the Production Management module.
- As additional data in each sequence, the user can add the percentages of diminished losses and rejections produced in the sequence.
- Component cost: indicates the proportional part of sequence costs that positive production carries. This means that the cost per component is the percentage part which supports this product regarding the total sequence cost.
- In the case that only one positive product is produced, this coefficient can have any other value except zero. Generally, one is used.
- To calculate cost coefficients, simply add up all component costs and divide by the number of components.
