Introduction
This document has the goal of explaining you the main User Interface differences between the Openbravo 2.33 version and the previous versions. The User Migration Manual should be your guide through the Openbravo look & feel.
In the document you will see the screen shots from both the 2.33 version and the previous version. The snap shots will help you visually understand the differences and rapidly learn about it.
Login & User Preferences
Before:
- The user preferences were chosen when logging in.
- In order to change the setting you had to log out.
Now:
- Editable user preferences button
- With one click, without logging out, and you can change your preferences.
Application Menu
Before:
- Many windows, processes, reports, etc. were thrown into one folder without any logic. By that the user might had difficulties finding things and figuring out if the windows were used to set up or to perform transactions.
Now:
- All the modules are organized in folders: Setup, Transaction, and Analysis Tools
- This should allow you to find the things faster and to work more effectively.
Master Data Management
Before:
- Two separate modules: Product Management; Partner Relations
- Pricing and Warehouse Management were included in the Product Management module
Now:
- Master Data Management, where you set up all the data used for all the transaction in the application.
- New Warehouse Management Module
Project & Service Management
Before:
- Two separate modules: Service; Project Management
Now:
- New Project & Service Management Module
Financial Management
Before:
- Three separate modules: Financial Management; Receivables & Payables; Assets
Now:
- One New Module: Financial Management

Close Application button
New location of the close application button:
Fold/Unfold the Menu button
New location of the fold/unfold the menu button:
Hide the Menu button
Before:
- The change view buttons were located in the toolbar.
Now:
- New Lateral Bar on the left of the Work Area allowing to hide the Menu.
Edition/Grid View
Before:
- The change view buttons were located in the toolbar.
Now:
- New Lateral Bar on the left of the Work Area allowing to change between edition/grid view.
Navigation Bar
Before:
- Different buttons included somewhere in the toolbar.
Now:
- New Navigation Bar with breadcrumb and common actions used in all the application windows, such as Go Back, Refresh, or Help.
Linked Items
New location and design of the linked items button:
Revised Names
Name of many windows, processes and reports have been revised and changed. Below see the most significant changes.
- Word Rules changed to Setup
- System Rules folder changed to Application
- Data folder changed to Data Import moved to the new Master Data Management module.
- Offer window changed to Price Adjustments and move to thePricing folder in the new Master Data Management module.
- Rappel window changed to Volume Discount and moved to the Business Partner Setup window in the new Master Data Management module.
- Materials Receipt changed to Goods Receipt
- Commission Run changed to Commission Payment
- All the windows related to warehouse management have been moved to the new Warehouse Management module. This are the following:
- Physical Inventory
- Inventory Move - changed to Goods Movement
- Warehouse & Locator - changed to Warehouse & Storage Bins
- Locator Type - changed to Storage Bin Type
- Shipment (received) - changed to Incoming Shipment
- Production - changed to Bill of Materials Production
- Shipper - changed to Shipping Company
- Freight Category
- Manufacturing module changed to Production Management and changes of the following windows names:
- Control Point Measure window changed to Quality Control Report
- Periodic Control Gathering window changed to Periodic Quality Control Data
- Maintenance Part window changed to Maintenance Order
- Scheduled Maintenance window changed to Maintenance Plan
- Process window changed to Activity
Tabs Design
New design of Tabs, showing only the ones directly accessible.
Take a look at the example in the Work Effort window:
Step 1: Work Effort tab (Header)
When you are in the header tab you can see the tabs directly related to this tab.
Step 2: Production Run tab
The tabs under the Production Run tab are dependent on it and therefore they are not accessible from the header tab. In the previous versions you could see all the tabs but you could not access them and this created confusion.
